“Trognon de pomme” literally means apple core in French. It is also an expression we use in French to say “cute”. It intrigued me how we use the same word for “cute” and an apple without its flesh. I think it is one of these serendipitous terms we are not conscious of but show our cultural approach to weigh in our culture.
