Currently exhibited at The Fenwick Gallery in East Balmain
The idea for this painting came to me looking at the first women in the army. I was wondering what country first accepted women in their forces.
Her name was Loretta Walsh. She was an Officer in the Navy. She was the woman who changed the law and made it possible for women to work in the forces.
By painting it, I wanted to remind how far we came from, but also how important it is to give a homage to these women who were key to our History.
Comes with a handwritten poem placed at the back of the painting. The envelope is sealed with a wax stamp.
